“I’ve been connected to hip hop since I was a teenager in the Virgin Islands. I remember someone coming back from a summer trip to New York with a Red Alert mixtape and I heard Eric B and Rakim’s “I aint’ no joke.” I became obsessed with hip hop and had to be up on every trend, act, or movement in the culture. Hip hop has been a blessing to me since I now have been able to turn my love of it into a lengthy career.
